Our Story

Meet The Therapist

Hello, I'm Frayde Yudkowsky, a Licensed Social Worker in NY, NJ, & AZ and Certified Trauma Professional. I'm honored to serve as a therapist dedicated to fostering growth and healing.

My journey in the field of mental health is fueled by a deep love for humanity and a profound understanding of the human condition. With a passion for creating spaces where everyone can flourish, I've dedicated myself to various roles, including therapist, founder, director, community activist, writer, editor, and event coordinator.

Over the years, I've had the privilege of working in diverse settings, from volunteer and non-profit organizations to psychiatric hospitals, outpatient programs, and living residences. Through these experiences, I've honed my skills as a therapist and gained invaluable insights into the complexities of the human mind and heart.

My commitment to excellence was evident from the start, earning me the Valedictorian award during my BA studies. I've pursued advanced certifications in Mental Health First Aid and Psychological First Aid as well as specialized training in Somatic Intervention, Progressive Counting, Sand Tray Therapy, Sand Play Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy.

I'm proud to have founded and directed initiatives such as The Sarah Gluck Respite Program and Miryam’s House, providing essential support to individuals in need. Additionally, my writing and editing contributions to various organizations reflect my dedication to amplifying voices and advocating for change.

Volunteering is a cornerstone of my commitment to serving others, whether providing support to patients experiencing psychiatric and medical conditions or coordinating events for community organizations like the Mekimi Cheer Up Squad and Project Extreme.

As a therapist, I believe in the transformative power of connection and collaboration. With empathy, compassion, and a deep respect for each individual's journey, I'm here to walk alongside my clients as they navigate life's challenges and discover their inner strength and resilience.

It's my privilege to create a space where healing begins, and growth flourishes. Welcome to THRIVE! Mental Health, where you're supported, valued, and empowered to THRIVE!

Our Approach

As a therapist, I firmly believe in our innate ability to discover H.O.P.E. - Healing, Opportunity, Purpose, and Empowerment. My vision for humanity is to uncover our intrinsic value and realize the lives we need, want, and deserve! My greatest aspiration is for individuals to recognize their inherent self-worth, nurturing the capacity for self-love, self-nurture, and self-respect.

My understanding of human behavior stems from acknowledging our survival instincts; we're driven to do whatever it takes to endure, whether it's adaptive or maladaptive. Our efforts to aid ourselves, while they may lead to coping mechanisms that are harmful to ourselves and others, demonstrate remarkable survival tactics.

Once we've delved into the underlying hurt we endured and addressed it on physical, spiritual, and emotional levels, our shame and pain no longer imprison us. This liberation allows us to embrace our lives, passions, talents, and ultimately ourselves!

My extensive training, including Somatic Intervention by Ricki Bernstein, LMSW, SEP,  Progressive Counting and Flash by Dr. Ricky Greenwald, and certification as a Certified Trauma Professional from the International Trauma Training Institute, equips me with a clinical understanding concerning trauma.

Healing from trauma often resembles performing open-heart surgery without the safety of a contained, sterile environment. This realization prompted me to become a recognized Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Trainer. DBT provides high-quality surgical care essential for trauma recovery.

With advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the Beck Institute and certifications in Mental Health First Aid and Psychological First Aid, I'm fully equipped to offer comprehensive support.

Leading individuals from dark, tumultuous places to tranquil oases fills me with immense joy. I eagerly anticipate offering you the care and support needed as we embark on a therapy journey towards thriving!
