Group Therapy

Chronic Pain Skills-Based Support Group

THRIVE! offers an all-encompassing support group. Join our 8-week skills-based, psychoeducational support group designed specifically for individuals living with chronic pain. Each session, whether in-person or virtual, lasts 1 hour and offers a nurturing environment where you can learn practical tools and strategies for managing pain and improving quality of life. We will be supporting one another, engaging in experiential exercises, gaining insight, sharing our experiences, learning techniques, getting to understand ourselves, learning how to live with our realities, and a whole lot more!

Creative Expression Group Therapy

Embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and expression with our 8-week, in-person creative expression group, where art and writing merge to unlock the depths of your inner world. Each session offers a safe and supportive space for exploring emotions, memories, and aspirations through various artistic mediums. Through guided exercises and prompts, you'll tap into your creativity and harness the power of self-expression to navigate life's challenges and celebrate moments of joy and resilience.

Sand Play Therapy Group

The Sand Play Therapy Group fosters self-expression and healing. Clients create worlds in a sand tray using miniatures, allowing deep emotional processing with minimal verbalization. This bottom-up approach engages the subconscious, promoting insight and transformation. In a group setting, the dynamic enhances the process, as participants share and witness each other’s journeys, fostering connection, validation, and mutual support. The sand tray becomes a safe space for exploring life’s challenges, healing from traumas, and uncovering inner strengths. Through this creative and therapeutic modality, individuals experience profound healing and integration in a compassionate, shared environment.

WRAP - WELLNESS RECOVERY ACTION PLAN

The Virtual 8-Week WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) Group is a transformative program designed to empower participants in maintaining wellness and preventing relapse. Over the course of eight weeks, participants collaboratively develop personalized action plans to address challenges, build resilience, and maintain emotional and mental well-being. This evidence-based program focuses on identifying early warning signs, creating effective coping strategies, and establishing a supportive framework to prevent setbacks. By fostering self-awareness and equipping individuals with practical tools, the WRAP group supports long-term recovery and empowers participants to take control of their well-being in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.

DID/OSDD SUPPORT GROUP

Offered through THRIVE! Mental Health, this professionally facilitated support group is designed for individuals living with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) or Otherwise Specified Dissociative Disorder (OSDD). Led by a therapist specializing in complex trauma and dissociation, the group provides a structured, compassionate space for systems to connect and be supported—both virtually (via Zoom) and in-person in Lakewood, NJ.
Sessions will include guided discussions, skill-building, grounding strategies, and opportunities for shared reflection. Topics may include managing daily life as a system, developing internal communication, building safety and stability, and navigating relationships. This is a validating, non-pathologizing space that honors the diversity of system experiences.
Come as you are. You are not alone.
